The Logic Verdict

It’s usually a loose bolt. The bolt holding the rotor (the big magnet on the bottom) can work itself loose, causing the sensor to misread.

What It Means

F51 = Rotor Position Sensor (RPS) Error. The washer doesn’t know what position the drum is in.

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Tip it Back: Lean the washer back (have a helper hold it).
  2. Check the Rotor: Look at the large plastic/metal disk on the bottom. Wiggle it. Is it loose?
  3. Tighten: Use an Allen wrench to tighten the center bolt.
  4. Replace Sensor: If the bolt was tight, the little plastic sensor board (RPS) underneath the rotor is likely dead. It’s a cheap part.
